Hi! I’m Ellie….
I’m Ellie Lucas, a mental health therapist, yoga teacher, and retreat leader with a passion for integrating mind-body wellness. I was born and raised in Costa Rica, where my love for nature and connection began. I’m bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish. I have been practicing as a therapist since earning my Masters in Social Work from Temple University in 2014. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), trained in Brainspotting and EMDR, and committed to helping people heal and grow through a holistic lens.
I am also a 500-hour trained yoga teacher, offering yin, vinyasa, nidra, and rocket yoga classes. I am trained in trauma informed yoga and approach my teaching from this lens. I enjoy creating workshops and yoga retreats and creating spaces where people come together.
My work has naturally evolved into blending therapy, somatic practices, yoga, and energy work (Reiki Level II) to help others feel whole and connected. Interconnected Wellness is rooted in honoring how everything is connected: our body, mind, spirit, and relationships.
When I am not meeting with clients or teaching, you can find me hanging out with my dog, being outdoors, hiking trails, soaking up the magic of nature, or planning the next wellness retreat or workshop. I love creating spaces where people can rest, reconnect, and rediscover their own magic.
Why Interconnected Wellness?
I believe that everything in life is deeply linked: our thoughts, actions, and energy not only shape our own well-being but also ripple out to influence the world around us and the connections we create. My journey began as a mental health therapist, but it quickly expanded as I noticed how traditional talk therapy only scratched the surface.
Years later, I developed a personal yoga practice that transformed my life not just physically, but emotionally and mentally. That transformation inspired me to pursue yoga teacher training, where I began to experience the profound connection between body, mind, and breath. This curiosity led me into even deeper explorations: somatic healing, breathwork, reiki, and bilateral approaches like EMDR and brainspotting. What stood out most was how naturally intertwined all these modalities are.
Every practice reinforces the others. Healing isn’t one-dimensional, it is layered and dynamic. Whether it’s the grounding presence you feel through yoga, the release from breathwork, or the energetic shifts during reiki, they all work together to create something much bigger than the sum of their parts. Even nature reminds us of this connection just by standing between towering mountains and breathing in the fresh air.
This belief in connection is also what inspires the wellness retreats and workshops spaces where people come together to pause, breathe, and explore these practices in community. It’s also a space and opportunity for me to connect and collaborate with friends and peers. These offerings are an invitation to reconnect with yourself and others, weaving together movement, breath, and healing techniques that support your whole being.
Interconnected Wellness was born from this understanding: that true healing happens when we honor all parts of ourselves while trusting in the deep connection that exists between them all.
